This special edition of the GBS Evolution VIII EV6P13 trouser design is one of only two pieces ever made, both exclusively for LABELS. The trousers are crafted from an exclusive tailored elastic drawstring waist pattern, inspired by a modified 1940s reproduction work trouser design. The fabric is a Super 120's extrafine pure Tasmanian worsted wool striped suiting cloth, woven in Biella, Italy, the world’s premier region for fine virgin wool production. Each piece was hand-dyed in the GBS Superworkrooms using a proprietary process requiring over 22 hours to achieve its unique mottled colors, patina effects, shaping, and softness.
The design features relaxed straight-leg proportions, hand-cut besom back pockets, and luxurious interior finishing with Italian satin twill tape-finished seams. Generous 2.5 cm seam allowances on both outseams and inseams allow the trousers to be let out by a full size. Hand-executed elastic waist construction and hand-sewn taped hemlines, which required over two hours of work, provide a clean finish, durability, and tailored elegance. Vintage recycled leather waistband tabs showcase the "extensionism" aesthetic.
The piece includes a hand-dyed pure silk label by Mion SpA in Torreglia, the first in the luxury industry to eliminate plastic polyester yarns. This label was dyed for its rich color and attached entirely by hand using pure silk threads. Variations in color and density are intentional, reflecting the artisanal dyeing and crafting process. Buttons and buttonholes should be handled with care. Professional cleaning or gentle handwashing in cold water is recommended, avoiding machine washing or drying.
